Doesn’t work. This reply was updated to make sure the information is valid. This method worked. My wifi does not seem to be the issue, because it still works with other devices. I have also tried changing which wifi I am connected to, but the new connection also does not work.

The only temporary fix to the issue I have found is restarting my computer. Everything will work fine then for a few days, then it will stop working again. Was this reply helpful? [FIXED] Windows 10 | WiFi connected but No Internet – Microsoft Community – Question Info

I have a Windows 10 laptop that is connected via Ethernet but states “no internet access”. The way that this laptop is configured is with a static IP address. When I connect the laptop via ethernet I am able to ping other devices on the network.

I am not able to reach my network drives or ping internet addresses ex. Sometimes the laptop loses the static configuration in the iPV4 properties and I have to go in and reconfigure these settings. I have found a workaround but it is impractical, as I have to do this workaround every time the computer is restarted or disconnected from Ethernet. I have the laptop setup on a docking station that connects the laptop to the ethernet cable via USB-C.

The ethernet cable is going from the docking station to an IP phone and utilizing the ethernet port on the IP phone. The workaround is simply unplugging the PoE cable to the IP phone and letting the phone restart and the laptop is then able to get internet access and reach the network drives. I have confirmed that it is not the IP phone causing the issue because when I plug another laptop into this docking station I get internet access and can reach all network drives immediately, no phone restart necessary.

So far I have ran all updates from Windows Updates and checked for updates for the network adapters there were none. I have 4 other laptops of the same model and they are not having this issue. This started Tuesday morning. Thank you for any advice, as I am completely stumped on how to solve this. Was this reply helpful? Yes No. Sorry this didn’t help. Hello, I’m Louie, and I’m happy to help you today. Hope you’re doing well and safe there. I’m sorry that you’re having trouble with your internet connection. I would suggest first you to run network troubleshooter, use these steps: Open Settings.

Click on Troubleshoot. Under the “Recommended troubleshooting” section, click the Additional troubleshooters option. Under the “Get up and running” section, select the Internet Connections troubleshooter.

Quick note: On Windows 10 version and earlier, the option is available within the Troubleshoot page. Click the Run the troubleshooter button. Select the Troubleshoot my connection to the Internet option. Select the Try these repairs as an administrator option if applicable. Continue with the on-screen directions if applicable.

After you complete the steps, the troubleshooter will run and fix any connectivity issues. Reset the network stack using Command Prompt by following these steps: 1.

Open Start. Search for Command Prompt, right-click the top result, and select the Run as administrator option. Type the following command to reset the component that handles network requests and press Enter: netsh winsock reset 4. Type the following command to reset the internet protocol stack and press Enter: netsh int ip reset 5. Once you complete the steps, launch the web browser and confirm the internet is working.

If the steps above still doesn’t work, reset all the network adapters, use these steps: Open Settings. Click on Status. Under the “Advanced network settings” section, click the Network reset option. Click the Reset now button. Click the Yes button.

After you complete the steps, the computer will restart automatically, and on reboot, you should now be able to connect to the internet. Take note thay this will reset all the network adapters installed on your computer to their factory defaults, you’ll need to re-enter your password to connect to WIFI network. You’ll need to reconfigure other networking software, such as VPN clients, if applicable.

Hope this helps. Sincerely, Louie. Thanks for your feedback. How satisfied are you with this reply? Thanks for your feedback, it helps us improve the site. This site in other languages x.
